个人简介(简历) Professor
Buris received the diploma in Electrical
Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1982 and a
Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the North Carolina State
University in Raleigh, NC. In
1987 he joined the faculty of the department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at University of Massachusetts at Amherst. The summer of 1990 he was a summer
faculty with NASA's Langley Research Center in Hampton, VA. In 1992, he joined Motorola where he
worked till 2009. Prior to
Motorola he worked on interesting and challenging projects such as
underground object detection, non destructive evaluation of ion implanted
thin ferrite films, ferrite devices, phased arrays on ferrites, phase
conjugation techniques for the correction of distorted large space reflector
antennas, broadband phased arrays and plasma ionization sensors. His work at Motorola spanned several
areas of wireless technology.
Notable contributions by prof. Buris and his team include antenna and RF circuit design
methodologies and tools. Some of
their design ideas on multidisciplinary and cross-layer optimization can be
found inside several successful products. His most recent activities have
focused on Smart Antenna Systems and Algorithms for the new generation
communication systems. Professor
Buris is an IEEE fellow and was elected twice a
